How Starglass works.

Three ways to ask, and what each one hands back.

Compare the three.

Quick Answer, in your browser.

Ask a focused question. Every sentence in the answer must cite a source, or Quick Answer won't send it.

Checking that the source says what the line claims is still your call.

Drawn from the product's own states. An example, not a customer's.

Inside your AI app.

Your AI app connects to Starglass over MCP, the open standard AI apps use to connect to outside tools.

  1. You ask.

Search NPPES for Mayo Clinic organizations, then fetch the first record with its citation receipt.

  2. source_search returns one record.[source=nppes; record_id=1881018208] MAYO CLINIC
  3. source_fetch returns lines 1–30 of 60 with a receipt.
  4. Your AI app writes the answer from what came back.

sources_list was offered and not used.

Four read-only tools: list sources, search official records, fetch cited passages and check evidence.

The tools search USAspending, SEC filings, FEC committee registrations, Congress, GovInfo, Senate lobbying disclosures and the NPPES provider registry. Starglass checks availability each session.

Deep Research, set up with you.

Bring a question and files. Starglass drafts a Case Plan, a research plan you edit in chat. Deep Research pauses at the plan. Nothing runs until you choose Start research.

Starglass then collects sources and keeps a copy of the ones that matter.

The result is a Living Case: the answer, its sources, the conversation and the open questions, kept together.

Bring a spreadsheet too. In a shared Data Project, Starglass works from column summaries and totals. Your raw rows stay private.

When the evidence is weak, Starglass says so:

Where Deep Research looks:

  • SEC EDGAR
  • FEC
  • CourtListener
  • USAspending
  • OpenSanctions
  • ProPublica nonprofit filings
  • Senate lobbying disclosures
  • GovInfo
  • Regulations.gov

It reads them through

Without a connector, it saves the web page or PDF.
